About Bump Boxes
There are many kinds of bumps – speed bumps, hives, air bubbles that ruin the vehicle tint job that your husband got because he thought it would make him look cool! But there is only one bump hailed as a blessing and that, my friends, is the pregnancy bump. Now, I said it was a blessing, but we all know that pregnancy is not all unicorns and rainbows.
It can be overwhelming, grueling, painful, and tiresome. Between the raging hormones and the amount that needs to get done before the baby arrives, stress is no stranger. Christine and Leland, the parents who founded Bump Boxes, know this stress all too well, and it prompted them to step forward with a solution.
Overview of Bump Boxes
Bump Boxes is a subscription service designed to ease the mind of an expecting mother. The amount that needs to get done in the nine short months before the baby arrives is more than overwhelming.
It’s a nearly impossible feat! The working mother must coordinate with her boss to figure out the amount of paid time off she will be afforded.
After that, she must shop for materials, set up the crib, decorate the baby room, read a dozen baby books, and decide whether or not the fearmongering on TikTok should be awarded any sort of merit.
And what about the doctor visits? Writing up a birth plan? Finding a doula? Did I mention that all of this planning takes place as the mother is being attacked by morning sickness?
It’s a lot to take in, I know. The founders of Bump Boxes lived this (at least twice based on the beautiful family photo posted on their website) and they know just how tough pregnancy can be. On their site, you will find not one, but seven subscription options!
Think of these as kits as a headstart. They ship the things you need so that you don’t have to make a list and scramble from store to store. Having these necessities shipped will then allot you more time for the big stuff – things like scheduling doctor’s visits, decorating the baby room, and writing out your birth plan.
Subscription Box Details
Like I said, Bump Boxes offers seven subscription options. The first is a twelve month subscription box offering items based on where you are at in your pregnancy. After you give birth, you will be switched over to the Bitsy Box which is for postpartum mothers.
Along with this subscription, you will also receive 30% off the rest of the store and a free gift with your first box. The twelve month subscription box is $19.50 for the first box and $38.99 for each of the other eleven boxes.
The second box is a nine month subscription box and it is labeled as BEST VALUE. This box is very similar to the twelve month subscription box except subscribers will only receive 25% off the rest of the store. The first box is $23.99 and the other eight are $39.99
The third and most popular box is the six month subscription box. While the site doesn’t state why this box is the most popular, my guess is that it has something to do with the fact that pregnancy becomes more demanding the closer one gets to her due date.
The first couple of months may just be battling morning sickness (Bump Boxes offers a separate box for this, but some of the earlier subscription boxes will also come with candy and wristbands geared towards settling nausea).
The six month subscription box is $30 for the first box and $42.99 for the remaining five months.
The fourth box is a month to month subscription. If you are serious about using Bump Boxes and plan on purchasing a box more than twice, then the other subscription options will probably suit you better and will definitely save you more money. It is $49.99 a month.
The last three boxes are bundles. Basically, you can opt to pay for all of your boxes upfront and save on the total!
Who Can Benefit From a Bump Boxes Subscription?
If you found this article, chances are, this is your first baby and you are just trying to wrap your head around all that needs to get done.
Or maybe you are an experienced mother looking for an easier way to go about pregnancy. Either way, if you’re expecting, you can expect Bump Boxes to have something for you!
As someone who is very into reading the ingredient labels – all the cool kids are doing it these days – one of the biggest upsides to Bump Boxes is that the founders know you’re pregnant.
What I mean by that is, they will never send you something that could harm you or your baby. On the other hand, most companies don’t know and don’t care that you’re pregnant.
How many food and cleaning companies have stated clearly on their labels that their product is for everyone EXCEPT those pregnant and nursing? Some don’t even tell you.
They just expect you to know whether their product is or is not safe for you to handle or consume!
When you receive your monthly Bump Box, you can rest assured that everything in it was formulated with you and your baby in mind!
On another note, busy mothers, especially, should consider a Bump Boxes subscription. Unfortunately, more often than not, we find mothers on their feet bustling about up until the day they give birth.
Bump Boxes acts like an assistant, fetching you many of the things you need so that extra store visits are not something you are cramming into your schedule.
In addition, the bustling can put a strain on our feet and backs even when not pregnant. The Bump Boxes founders considered this and offer massage tools that even those not expecting will envy!
Lastly, Bump Boxes can also benefit dads! While the subscription is solely for the mother, Bump Boxes does offer The Dad Box – a one time purchase of $49.99.
Bump Boxes Pros & Cons
- Prepares mothers with safe and useful products
- Prioritizes self-care and health
- Free shipping with all subscription boxes
- Offers discounts for the rest of the store with the purchase of certain boxes
- Offers bundles for saving
- Some of the boxes offered for a one time purchase would make fantastic gifts
- I do wish that Bump Boxes was a little more transparent with what each subscription box contains. Surprises are nice sometimes, but some mothers – especially experienced mothers – may be wondering if they already have some of the products provided. The boxes available for one time purchase do a better job of showing what they contain.
Bump Boxes Review – What Do Customers Think?
Bump Boxes has a 4.4 star rating! The most recent reviews fill up the entire first pages with 5 stars! Mothers love how cute and thoughtful each of the boxes are and some have mentioned that they’ve received compliments on various clothing items offered in the boxes.
As you may know by now, I never leave a review page without reading at least one bad review. You can’t please everyone, and reading bad reviews can sometimes cause me to buy the product! How? Well, let me show you some of Bump Boxes’ bad reviews in explanation.
A few customers mentioned that the packaging did not come with enough tissue paper… However, nothing was damaged. Others felt that they could have bought the items separately at a store and saved money.
While this might be true, keep in mind that these are high quality items being shipped to you to save you time and decrease the stress that comes with researching and finding all of these items separately. And this is how bad reviews end up convincing me to buy the product!
Where Can I Purchase a Subscription?
You can check out some of Bump Boxes’ products on Amazon, but the cheapest way to go is to simply check out their official website linked here: https://bumpboxes.com/subscribe/select. Bump Boxes also offers free returns and you can cancel at any time. If you reside within the United States, you will receive free shipping on the subscription boxes and keep in mind that you can save even more by bundling!
So, yes, of course your bump is a blessing! But Bump Boxes knows that there are many bumps in the road that a mother will encounter along the way. Many bumps that keep you from enjoying your bump. In the words of Erma Bombeck, “If I had life to live over, instead of wishing away nine months of pregnancy, I’d have cherished every moment and realized that the wonderment growing inside me was the only chance in life to assist God in a miracle.”
Erma knew that pregnancy wasn’t easy, but that it still should and needed to be enjoyed. So, allow Bump Boxes to aid you with the tedious, stressful stuff and use the time it saves you to fall in love with the miracle your body is performing.
