About Dr. Squatch
Often, “all natural products” are targeted for the more feminine consumers in the Western world.
We somehow negligently assume that men are okay with a 3-in-1 shampoo, conditioner, and body wash filled with a laundry list of harmful ingredients (think: petroleum, mineral oil, parabens, phthalates, sulfates, PEGs, FD&C colors, DMDM hydantoin, and the list continues).
While men may lean towards the simpler options, that shouldn’t come at the cost of quality. Welcome, Dr. Squatch, inspired by the actual Sasquatch for you Bigfoot believers out there.
The Dr. Squatch tribe started from humble beginnings with pure intentions of a men’s product line that is clean, organic, 98-100% natural origin ingredients in all their products which range from soaps, deodorants, haircare, lotion, and toothpaste.
Trusted by Men’s Health, Men’s Journal, GQ, and Birchbox, let’s take an exploration into the wild wilderness of Dr. Squatch products.
Overview of Dr. Squatch
Like any good band, it all began out of a garage. And, for CEO of Dr. Squatch, Jack Haldrup, that was just the case.
Jack was sick of putting harmful ingredients onto his skin and realized there was no specific niche for a clean men’s skincare line—with scents that smelled actually manly and not of a teenage boy going through a “phase.”
He began formulating his own soap brands in his garage and from this need, Dr. Squatch was born! His mission?
“Our goal is to inspire and educate men to be happier and healthier.”
While you may assume it is a stretch to become ‘happier” by a single skincare line, Jack may truly be on to something. With common skincare lines containing harmful chemicals including phenols, parabens, phthalates, synthetic fragrances, and soybean oil, all these manmade components (called “estrogenics”) have been known to disrupt hormonal balance and regulation.
Think hormones, influenced by the chemical absorbed on our skin, have no influence on mood and libido? Think again. Dr. Squatch products do not contain those unnecessary fillers. Just good, manly scents at affordable prices—happier and healthier.
All of Dr. Squatch products are 98-100% natural in origin based upon the ISO 16128 methodology of measuring the amount of naturalness a product possess.
Does Dr. Squatch truly take men’s skincare to a whole new, natural level? Let’s dive into the sudsy ingredients.
Dr. Squatch Products & Ingredients Review
We love humble beginnings and supporting small (but mighty!) businesses, but if you’re like us, you do not want to sacrifice quality. Let’s review each popular product line Dr. Squatch offers and examine key ingredients.

These scents can likely appease to any of you gents out there. Click here for the full lineup of scents offered by Dr. Squatch.
Each bar is $7 a piece with the average rating of 4.5/5 stars overall (average number of reviews is approximately 5,000-15,000 verified customers!). Each soap bar comes with the “Smells Like” description rating to help you determine if it’s the right scent for you.
Plus, each bar has a unique grade of exfoliation, so Dr. Squatch provides and “Exfoliation” descriptor rating under each soap type to help you determine every nitty gritty detail of your soap choosing.
While ingredients will vary depending on the scent and special added ingredients, for example, Deep Sea Goats Milk obviously contains, well, goat’s milk, Dr. Squatch keeps its baseline ingredients an OG, simple list:
Saponified Oils
Dr. Squatch uses a combination of olive, sustainable palm, and coconut oils for its hydrating base, minus the mainstream, icky, comedogenic petroleum often used to “hydrate” the skin. Both olive and coconut oil contain a potent antioxidant property with coconut oil have a unique antimicrobial and antiinflammatory effect along the dermal layer of skin. (2)
Shea Butter
Extracted from the tree, Vitellaria paradoxa, shea butter contains a plethora of unique fatty acids that also provide potent antiinflammatory and antioxidant effects. Interestingly, it is also believed to possess a high content of vitamin E and A as well as unique UV-protecting molecules. Who knew so much could be packed into a single soap? (3,4)
Oatmeal
Nature’s form of an exfoliant, removing dirt gently, but effectively from your pores.
Kaolin Clay
Nature’s incredible mineral that has been known to rid of oils and environmental pollutants on the skin, it makes sense why Dr. Squatch includes this in every soap product. (5)
Sea Salt
A natural antimicrobial product with innate exfoliant properties alone with ionic potential that helps neutralize the skin’s dermal layer.
Essential Oil
For naturally-derived fragrance—no icky, synthetic fragrances!
Dr. Squatch Hair Care Review
Mainstream culture doesn’t place a large enough emphasis on the importance of clean ingredients that go into men’s hair products. If you check any major retail store, a large majority of hair products are 2-in-1 options that really affect the quality of both the cleansing and hydrating properties.
Dr. Squatch doesn’t cut corners—they believe all men should have a good mane, whether short, long, or slowly balding.

Dr. Squatch Reviews – Customer Testimonies
We’ve already alluded some to rating of Dr. Squatch products, but what are people actually raving about?
Michael, a skeptic of natural toothpastes, shares his Dr. Squatch review:
“Been using the name brand toothpaste all my life. Decided I didn’t need all the additives but was unsure of what the alternative ones. I can happily say I have thrown away the large commercial brand tooth and Nell will stay with Dr. Squatch.”
Forever a convert of all things natural in the toothpaste realm? It seems so! Another customer shares that the morning and night formulae removed even coffee stains on his teeth:
“Teeth are whiter, I will never go back to another toothpaste.”
A definitive phrase from a man, indeed. Why waste your time elsewhere when you can get your full cleanliness, minus the worry of harmful chemical, all in one Dr. Squatch mouthful?
What about the Dr. Squatch Shampoo reviews? Jack gives a vulnerable share that the Dr. Squatch Pine Tar shampoo has seemingly help his icky, flakey scalp out!
“It works very well. Great lather, hair feels thick and clean. IT seem to even be getting rid of the flaky scalp I have.”
Incredible! Nourished hair and scalp. Shampoo shouldn’t dry your scalp and damage your hair roots in the process.
Dr. Squatch has clearly done their homework to ensure nourishment is holistic from roots to tips.
Robert shares his intimate, yet comical, account of using the Dr. Squatch shampoo line as he shares,
“Love this stuff!! First day I used it, my wife came into the bathroom after I had finished showering and she practically tackled me! Gave me a huge kiss and asked, “Wow! What is that great smell? I can’t keep my hands off of you!!” So now I shampoo every 15 minutes just to keep her happy and IT WORKS!!”
That is most certainly a valid reason to keep using a product! Good for your body and your relationship. Call Dr. Squatch the “love” doctor, instead? Nah, let’s keep Dr. Squatch in charge of all things skincare.
Before you think Dr. Squatch is used by men alone, there are plenty of ladies who endorse the products for their earthy, natural scents. One woman shared in her Dr.Squatch review:
“Beautiful soap with a subtle scent. Effective, pure. Took a leap a faith a purchased a bar. Sold after first shower. Fan for life.”
Men, take note. Ladies are prime to sniffing out good, quality skincare. Perhaps Dr. Squatch can truly promise just that: quality for life.
